Nişte săteni, care-şi munceau ogorul, se hotărăsc să prânzească, aşa că merg la marginea ogorului, la umbra unui copac. În acel moment, trec pe dumul de la marginea ogorului, pe langă săteni, patru domnisoare (a se înţelege fete mari). Unul dintre săteni, le abordează:
-Fetelor, poftiţi cu noi la masă!
-Mulţumim, dar nu ne e foame, răspunde una dintre fete. În schimb, dacă noi am avea ce mâncaţi voi, n-am mai fi domnişoare.
