Avem un triunghi ale carui laturi au dimensiunile (in centimetri): 5, 12, 13.

Aplicăm reciproca teoremei lui Pitagora şi vom avea :
Conform reciprocei teoremei lui Pitagora, suma pătratelor celor două laturi (5 şi 12) este egală cu pătratul celei de-a 3-a laturi, aşadar triunghiul este dreptunghic . |
